

PEKIN ~ Erston Foust, 91 of Pekin, passed away at 6:58 p.m. Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Hallmark House in Pekin.
Born April 24, 1922 in Christopher to Fred and Dora (Easley) Foust, he married Constance King on October 15, 1965 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Scott Foust, Sr. of North Pekin, Steve Foust of Bushnell; one daughter, Christy McCarl of Naperville; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one daughter-in-law, Nola Foust.
Erston served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theater where he participated in action at Iwo Jima Island and then participated in the occupation of Japan.
He had worked for American Distillery for 38 years, retiring in 1980.
Erston enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing softball and reading. He was a man who enjoyed “tinkering” in his garage and was known to be able to fix almost anything.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. W. Lloyd Brock will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
