Fred Alan Kohlmeyer

He was born November 29, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan to Fred and Doris (Ryskamp) Kohlmeyer.  He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Anna Kohlmeyer; and one nephew, Brent Reed.

Surviving are one daughter, Linelle Kohlmeyer of Pekin; one son, Casey Kohlmeyer of Peoria; one brother, Bruce (Deena) Kohlmeyer of Canton; one sister, Kathy Reed of Versailles Kentucky; three step sisters, Julie Sullivan, Jeanne Rezny, and Dee Stonner; two nephews, Craig Kohlmeyer of Peoria and Blake Kohlmeyer of Mesa, Arizona; and two nieces, Whitney Kohlmeyer of Saint Louis, Missouri and Brooke Reed of Browning, Kentucky.

Alan graduated from Western Illinois University and worked as the circulation manager for the Peoria Journal Star and later for the Observer Newspapers.

His memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the service.
