She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and four sisters.
A homemaker, Genevieve was an avid reader and loved gardening. She was a devoted Grandma and Great Grandma. She was also a United Way volunteer and a volunteer at the school her children attended. A very political person, she worked on many local election committees in earlier years.
Being very proud of her Irish heritage, she was full of a special zest that touched everyone that had the pleasure of being in her presence. She had an open view on life and embraced every aspect of it. She will be greatly missed but her unique, intuitive points of view on loving and living life will stay with us.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Midwest Affiliate, 4722 North Sheridan Road, Peoria, IL 61614.
