

Born February 18, 1930 in Gillespie to George and Beth Blue Berry, he married Veda June Vaughn on December 9, 1950 in McLeansboro.
Surviving are his wife; 5 daughters, Joyce (Glen) Brewer, Linda (Mike) Dickson, Candra Gouliard, Sandra Starnes, and Molly Berry, all of Pekin; 2 sons, David (Patricia) Berry of Pekin and Geoffrey Berry of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Esther (Victor) Rubsam of Peoria and Eileen (Russell) Swanson of Raveena, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
George worked in inventory control at Caterpillar, Inc. for 44 years, retiring in 1991.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from August 1, 1951 to July 31, 1953, attaining the rank of Corporal.
A devoted family man, he enjoyed gardening and small engine repair.
Hisfuneral will be at 10 a.m., Monday, December 24, 2007at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Rev. Paul D. Myers will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, December 23, 2007at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin.
