George "Louie" Knollenberg

Born June 2, 1944 in Pekin to Raymond G. and Ruby J. (Mohr) Knollenberg, he married Joyce Ann (Loomis) Risinger on August 9, 2013 in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Lewis Knollenberg of Murray, Kentucky, Bryan Knollenberg and Raymond (Susan) Knollenberg, both of Pekin; one stepson, Kristofer (Maria) Risinger of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren, Bryan Knollenberg, Dylan Knollenberg, Alex Knollenberg, Eli Knollenberg, all of Pekin, Heather (Tyler) Parker and Joel Risinger, both of Phoenix, Arizona; two great-grandchildren, Luke Parker and Claire Parker and two brothers, Terry (Joy) Knollenberg of Manito and Rick Knollenberg of Pekin.

His parents preceded him in death.

Louie worked at Caterpillar, Inc. as an electrician for 33 years, retiring in 1996. For several years after

Caterpillar he was a long haul truck driver. In earlier years, he worked as a barber.

He deeply loved his boys and grandkids and was a huge fan of anything futuristic, especially Star Trek and Star Wars related.

He was a devoted member of Pekin Bible Church and enjoyed Bible studies and being in God’s Word daily.

His memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Pekin Bible Church. Pastor Chad Nightingale will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Inurnment will follow the service in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
