She was born December 20, 1932 in Cullman, Alabama to Arthur J. and Pearl M. (Yates) Talley. Her parents preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Roger Vickers, David Vickers, and Robert “Bobby” Pribble, one daughter, Wanda Daniels; four sisters, Mary Jo Woody, Flossie Himes, Vesta Huckaba, and Nadine Talley; four brothers, Paul Talley, Herman Talley, Daves “D.C.” Talley, and James Talley and one great-grandson, Kody Dietrich.
Surviving are two sons, Steven Vickers of Athens, Alabama and Kevin (Jessy) Pribble of Pekin; two daughters, Cindy (Rodney) Giddens of Pekin and Marsha Fritz of Janesville, Wisconsin; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and one brother, Arthur Talley, Jr. of Eva, Alabama.
Geri worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 25 years in purchasing, retiring in 1993. Previously, she had worked in data processing for 10 years at Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. She also owned and operated Heavenly Delights in Pekin for many years. Geri was a gifted cook and especially known for her peach cobbler.
She loved Jesus and family time. She also loved flowers.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
