

Born October 14, 1917 in Hamilton, MS to Julius and Sallie (Thrailkill) Dahlem, he married Avie Lou Coleman on October 30, 1938 in Hamilton, MS. She preceded him in death on June 2, 1991 in Peoria.
Also preceding him are two infant daughters, four brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are one son, David (Judy) Dahlem of Tremont; one daughter, Julia (Richard) McClain of San Jose; one grandson, Scott (Monica) Dahlem of Pace, FL; one granddaughter, Gail Dahlem of Bloomington; four great grandchildren and one sister, Vera Schmuck of Tampa, FL.
Morris served in the United States Navy on Tinian Island in the Pacific theater during World War II.
He worked for Corn Products Corp. for thirty years, retiring in 1981. He had also worked for Boznos Nursery from 1956-1966. He then worked on his own as a landscaper until he was 89 years old.
Morris enjoyed southern gospel music, gardening and outdoor work. His passion was "bush-whacking" or trimming bushes for businesses and people. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always spending time helping his family with projects in their homes.
His local visitation will be Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Funeral services will then be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Homes in Aberdeen, MS where visitation will be one hour prior. The Rev. Terry Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamilton, MS.
