

Born January 16, 1932 in Pearl City to Donald W. and Mabel (Krusey) Smith, he married Lillian “Ellen” Vickers on July 6, 1952 in Winslow. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Linda (Rick) Bernson of Denver, Colorado and Charmaine Cummins of Hanna City; three sons, Homer C.F. “Chuck” (Loni) Smith, Jr. of Delavan, Greg (Melissa) Smith of Stanford and David (Catherina) Smith of Cedar Hill, Texas; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Printz of Forreston and Barbara (Stanley) Toomsen of Shannon and one brother, Harlan Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, Paul Cummins and two grandsons-in-law, Brian Burridge and CJ Allen.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.
Homer worked as a contractor doing carpentry work for more than 30 years.
His passion was working with wood, golfing, hunting and gardening. He also enjoyed taking pictures, watching wildlife, particularly bird watching. Homer loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Days of Grace Fellowship in Morton.
His celebration of life memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Days of Grace Fellowship in Morton. Pastor Randy Hall will officiate. Cremation has been accorded. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is assisting the family with arrangements.
