

Born June 24, 1939 in Pekin to Vernon Edward and Violet Adeline (Hallar) Neavear, she married Michael George Jakoby, III on January 9, 1965 in Peoria. He died November 1, 2017 in Pekin.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Michael (Susan) Jakoby, IV and Lt.Col. (R) Vernon (Nadel) Jakoby, both of Chatham; six grandchildren, Caleb Jakoby of Killeen, Texas, Michael G. Jakoby, V of Knoxville, Tennessee, William Jakoby, James Jakoby, Jillian Jakoby and John Jakoby, all of Chatham; and one sister, Ethel Snyder of Urbandale, Iowa.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Ida was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, fishing and traveling.
Ida was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Father Michael Andrejek will be the celebrant. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, in care of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 303 South 7th Street, Pekin, Illinois 61554 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Midwest Affiliate, 530 Northeast Glen Oak Avenue, Peoria, Illinois 61637.
