

Born May 8, 1920 in Alberta, Canada to Nathan and Henrietta Henson Martin, she married Ernest W. Cooling on April 29, 1937 in Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband on February 19, 1980; 2 daughters, Judy Cooling and Annis Goodwin; 1 son, Donald Cooling; 1 granddaughter; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Surviving are 3 sons, Ernest N. "Bud" (Brenda) Cooling of Warner Robins, Georgia, Larry D. (Betty) Cooling of Dallas, Texas, and David L. (Cynthia) Cooling of Peoria; 4 daughters, Burma M. Bozarth , Grace E. Stovall, and Lori J.(David) Frampton, all of Pekin and Mickey L. (Niels) Jensen of Tuna, Missouri; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Becky (Troy) VanDyke of Memphis, Tennessee and Sylvia "Suz" (Lenny) Baer of Kansas City, Missouri; and 3 brothers, Tommy Martin and Allen (Carol) Martin, both of Pekin, and Roland (Renetta "Sis") Martin of Universal City, California.
Iola was a member of both the Pekin Salvation Army and the Pekin Union Mission.
She also was a member of the Jolly Sixties, the Golden Age Club, and the Golden Arms Bible Club. She was active at the Miller Senior Center in Pekin and enjoyed playing cards, traveling and socializing.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. Rev. Eugene Hooker and Major Tom Eagle will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2007at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
