

Born August 1, 1951 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Windred and Carolyn Joyce (Corbell) Richardson, he married Maeleen Kiser. She died in September of 2001. He then married Delola Diane Todd on May 11, 2004 at Forsyth, Missouri. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sara Richardson of Lafayette, Louisiana and Susan (Ian) Hacker of St. Louis, Missouri; one step-son, Rick Tannhauser of Pekin; nine grandchildren; one brother, James “Jimmy” (Diana) Richardson of Mobile, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Sara Richardson of Pekin and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ray Richardson and one sister, Jewell Diane Richardson.
Jerry was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a proud recipient of the Bronze Star.
He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 31 years, retiring in 2003 as a machinist from Building LL in East Peoria.
Jerry was a retired member of UAW Local 974.
Jerry enjoyed doing anything outdoors, especially fishing and mushroom hunting.
He was of the Christian faith.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2024 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Randy Justus will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
