

Born August 12, 1938 in Xenia to Ollie and Esta (Holler) Waggoner, he married Wilma Remington in 1958. He later married Joye Hickey in 1979.
Surviving are his father of Pekin; his wife; four daughters, Cindy Waggoner and Christy Waggoner, both of Creve Coeur, Lisa (Shane) Edwards of Spring Valley and Laura Waggoner of Marquette Heights; two sons, Mike Waggoner of Orange, California and Gary Waggoner of East Peoria; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard “Dick” (Judy) Waggoner and Roland Waggoner, both of Pekin, and Donald Waggoner of San Jose; one sister, Shirley (George) Manor of Vero Beach, Florida; two step-daughters, Becky Greer of Lexington, Missouri and Jenny Greer of Springfield, Missouri; and two longtime friends, Gary Moreland and Panzy Kleiber Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his mother on November 16, 2004; one daughter, Kim Waggoner Ramirez; and a niece, Julie Waggoner.
Jerry was a cab driver for the Yellow Checker Cab Company in Pekin for many years. Previously, he had worked in security and maintenance at Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri.
He had served in the Illinois National Guard.
Jerry enjoyed fishing and was a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan
His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
