He was born May 21, 1980 in Pekin to Johnny Vaughn, Sr. and Debbie (Thornton) Armstrong.
Surviving are his father, Johnny Armstrong, Sr. of Pekin; his mother, Debbie Thornton of Pekin; one son, Ethan Armstrong of Pekin; one sister, Leia (Darrick Bolson) Armstrong of Pekin; grandmother, Yvonne Armstrong of Pekin; an uncle, Roy Thornton of Pekin; aunts, Denise, Karen, Cindy, and Robin; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Armstrong, and Gene and Cora Eileen Thornton.
Johnny enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, and hanging out with his friends.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses.
