Joyce A Jenks

Born June 8, 1951 in Murphysboro to Loman and Joanne (Fligor) Champion, she married Richard G. Jenks on June 15, 1986 in Champaign.

Surviving are her husband; 3 daughters, Angie West of Rantoul, Deanna (Rob) Gillis of Olney, and Robyn Marden of Sanford, Florida; 2 sons, William (Christie) Rincker of Mechanicsburg, and Rick Jenks of Maitland, Florida; and 1 brother, Ray (Sue) Champion of Waterloo.

Also surviving are her beloved Maltese dogs, “Dino” and “Mia”.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and 1 brother, Lloyd Champion.

She worked for Wahlfield Manufacturing in Peoria from 1987 to 1997 and then as an export specialist for DHL in Peoria from 2000 to 2010.

Joyce enjoyed travelling, reading, cooking, playing golf, watching Atlanta Braves baseball, and spending time with her husband and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
