

Joycelyn M. Scheeler, 73 of Pekin passed away in Pekin Hospital Emergency Room at 10:47 a.m. on March 4, 2012. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on October 5, 1938, a daughter of Robert & Helen (Koch) Scott. She married William Scheeler in June 1960. He passed away on April 2, 1989 in Pekin. She later married Neal Scurlock in August 1994.
Joycelyn is survived by one daughter, Pennie (Charles) Adkins of Pekin; two sons, Bill Scheeler of Pekin and Tim Meyer of Barry, Illinois; three grandchildren, Ryan Scheeler, Christopher Adkins, and Rachel Adkins.
Joycelyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
She was an accounting clerk at Chris Hoerr & Son Co. until retiring. She was a member and past leader of the Pekin Quilt Guild. She was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin.
Two of Joycelyn’s passions were sewing and her cats. She also loved her family dearly.
Funeral services will be Thursday March 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. Rev. Dr. Rodger Abatie will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday evening March 7, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin, and a hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery in Chillicothe.
