Born February 26, 1965 in Pekin to Nelson and Goldie (Patton) Boyer, she married Mark Benton Bohannan on August 13, 2002 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Megan Miller and Amanda (Brandon) Gray, both of Pekin; three grandchildren, Cadence, Easton, and Wrigley; two brothers, Clifford “Butch” Boyer and Nelson “Buddy” Boyer, both of Pekin; one sister, Jennifer Robin (John) Keen of Pekin; two half-brothers, Albert Boyer of Pekin and Louis Boyer of Washington; and a life-long friend, Tammy Bushong.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Susie Pence.
A homemaker, Karen provided child care for her family and others. She enjoyed cooking and watching cooking shows. Her greatest joy was being with her family.
A gathering celebrating her life will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
