Born January 19, 1912 in Pekin to Ollie and Eva (Sams) Thompson, she married Carl Terrell in 1961 in Havana. He died December 24, 1973 in Pekin.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Thompson.
Surviving are one son, Larry Schaumleffel of Pekin and one cousin, Melvin "Shorty" (Jo) Thompson of Pekin.
Katherine worked as a bookkeeper, first for the Pekin Daily Times, then for Cottingham Chevrolet, and finally for Cohen Furniture Company until she retired in 1972.
She was an avid gardener and loved to cook and sew.
Her graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. The Rev. Tom Cone will officiate. There will be no visitation. Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
