Born on July 19, 1958, in Pekin, she is the daughter of Harold James Brady and Karen Kay (Kellogg) Brady; she later married David Potter on October 20, 1978. He survives.
Also surviving is her daughter, Christina (Scott) Elam; one grandson, Dylan Elam; one sister, Cindy Madden; one brother, Kevin Brady; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, James Brady and Michael Brady.
Kathy attended and graduated from Pekin Community High School, where she formed many friendships that would last a lifetime. She was employed at Caterpillar with Canteen-Eurest Dining for over 35 years.
She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, spreading her laugh and joy to those lucky enough to experience her one-of-a-kind humor. She truly cherished the friendships and support that she received during her time on earth and strived to return that love and care to others as well.
Kathy enjoyed playing cards, swimming, bowling, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.
She will always be remembered for her strength, humor, and compassion that she effortlessly balanced with her quick wit and admittedly ornery yet contagious sense of humor. She leaves us on earth with her wonderful memories to enter the arms of the Lord. As Kathy would say, “Peace and Love.”
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In leu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
