Kenneth Thompson

Born September 28, 1947 in Beardstown, IL to Gaylen B. and Verna Ilene (Brown) Thompson, he married Carol Lynn Coryell on December 31, 1987 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Steven (Alison) Thompson of Swansea, Wales and Andrea (Jim) Cantrall of Pekin, IL; two step-children, Greg (Dawn) DePeugh of Pekin, IL and Michelle (Eric) Dupent of South Pekin, IL; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, George (Linda) Thompson of West Plaines, Mo and Ron (Pam) Thompson of Springfield, IL and one sister, Patricia Harris of Mason City, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild and two brothers.

Ken had worked as an engineer at Caterpillar, Inc. in Mossville, IL for 30-plus years, retiring in 2002. He was also a member of Pekin Moose Family Center #916.

He enjoyed traveling, fishing, golfing, woodcarving and doing genealogy.

His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chris Sansom will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing masks will be followed. Private inurnment will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
