

Born May 24, 1964 in Pekin to Kenneth and Karalyn (Wildeber) Garber, he married Jennifer Bowman on May 12, 1995 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Karalyn Garber; three children, Kasondra (Joshua) Whalen of Mapleton, Kegan (Shelby) Garber of Mapleton, and Kendra Garber of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Tena, Zoey, Kaven, Delilah, Kinsley, Finnigan, and Thea; four siblings, Dana (Rose) Garber, Kraig (Shawna) Garber, and his twin brother, Kurt (Myong) Garber, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. Kent and Kurt were more than just brothers—they were best friends, always looking out for one another and sharing a lifetime of memories. He also shared a deep connection with his sister Kara (Mario) Palmieri, who lovingly helped care for him throughout his illness, providing unwavering support and comfort in his final days. Kent also leaves behind ten nieces and nephews, Jesse, Kacey, Loren, Jenna, Stephan, Hannah, Jordan, Zach, Naomi, and Mady.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Garber; one granddaughter, Tera; one nephew, Kody and two nieces, Kari and Lora.
Kent proudly served in the United States Navy for eight years.
He worked as a dry mill operator at Alto Ingredients in Pekin for 22 years before retiring in March of 2022.
Above all else, Kent was a devoted husband and loving father. His wife, children and grandchildren were his greatest pride, and he never missed an opportunity to show them how much he cared. He was the kindest, most selfless man—always putting his family first and making sure they knew they were deeply loved. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and unwavering support to those lucky enough to know him.
Kent enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, working in the garage fixing things, listening to music, and watching the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He was also an avid Fox News viewer. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin.
His memorial visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Military Rites will be conducted at 4 p.m. There will be no service. Cremation has been accorded.
