Laura E Vehlow

Born August 3, 1919 in Moweaqua to Harry and Mabel (Evans) Bramblett, she married Alfred Vehlow on Sept. 30, 1950 in Moweaqua. 

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 23, 2002; and 1 sister.

Surviving are two sons, Paul (Paula) Vehlow of Sherman and Gorden (Dianne) Vehlow of Pekin; Vehlow of Pekin; five  grandchildren, Molinda (Michael) Scott of Champaign, David (Mandi) Vehlow of Glen Carbon, and Christopher (Lori) Vehlow, Matthew Vehlow, and Anne Vehlow, all of Pekin; and one great-grandson, Zander.                                                                                 A graduate of Illinois State University, she was a teacher for 30 years, most of which were with Pekin School District 108.

Laura was a devoted and loving grandmother.

She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  The Rev. Kristie Peterson will officiate.  Visitation will be 1 hour before the funeral.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
