

She was born December 17, 1997 in Bloomington to Danny Roger and Linda Karen (Hunt) Helfers.
Surviving are her mother, Linda Helfers of Havana; father and step-mother, Danny and Cherity Helfers of Roanoke; four brothers, Ryan (Sean Hanson) Buck of Macomb, D.J. Jones of Creve Coeur, Jared McLain and Bryson Helfers, both of Roanoke; grandparents, Candy and Chuck Brickner and Harold Toft, all of East Peoria; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Glenda Helfers and Lowell and Karen Hunt.
Lindsey was a junior at Roanoke-Benson High School and was a member of the Captain’s Club. She attended Havana High School for her freshman and sophomore years and participated in flags both years. She also participated in freshman track and softball.
Lindsey worked at Hardee’s in El Paso.
She was a member the Rock Church in rural East Peoria and the AMPD Youth Group.
Lindsey was a very artistic and creative person. She loved to laugh and make others laugh too. She enjoyed drawing, photography, dancing, and music. She had ice skated for many years and had been on the Precise Ice Skating Team in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory, 500 North 4th Street in Pekin. Pastor Chuck Tate will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
