
Born September 8, 1928 in Pekin to Edward and Flora (Pfeiffer) Bohlander, she married Phillip E. Arnold on September 14, 1947 in Rantoul. He passed away on July 5, 2012 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald Bohlander.
Surviving are two daughters, Jill A. (Stan) McBroom of Mapleton and Jodi “Gavra Lynn” Arnold of West Peoria; two sons, Jack Phillip (Mary) Arnold of Peoria and Rev. Jayme “Jay” (Jill) Arnold of Pekin; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Valerie Bohlander.
Lois was an active member of The Cross Baptist Church in Pekin.
She had worked at Glasford State Bank as a teller and bookkeeper.
She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and she loved following her children and grandchildren’s games and activities. Lois and Phil enjoyed traveling. She founded a ladies card club that lasted over 50 years.
She recently appeared in the music video “Those Silent Nights” by Jacob Colgan. It can be viewed on YouTube.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Her son, Rev. Jay Arnold will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday, prior to the service. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
