Lois Marie Rockhold

Born July 6, 1938 in Canton to Arthur H. and Minnie P. (Underhill) Knowles, she married Walter Duane Rockhold on August 19, 1956 in Tremont. He died April 1, 2000 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Tom Knowles, Vale Knowles, Gale Knowles and Arthur Knowles, Jr. and three sisters, Jane Smith, Mary Zimmerman, and Esther Morris.

Surviving are one son, Manny (Dawn) Rockhold of Pekin; three grandchildren, Amanda Rockhold of Bartonville, Angela Rockhold and Alex Rockhold, both of Pekin; one sister, Lucille “Ceil” (Wayne) Mattson of Waukesha, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews including Linda Beadles of Washington of who helped care for her.

Lois was a former owner and secretary of Automotive Machine, Inc. in Pekin from 1980 until retiring in 1999. She previously worked for Eastabrook’s Laundry in Pekin.

Lois enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known for her smile and laughter. She enjoyed watching her son, Manny, race in sprint car races. She was a volunteer with the Pekin Hospital Auxiliary for many years.

She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Pekin.

Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor John Vaughn will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
