Lucille M Benker

Born April 24, 1926 in Norman, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Lee W. and Marie K. (Mjeldheim Sjursen) Moats. She married Edward Paul Benker on December 7, 1947 in Davenport, Iowa. He died June 24, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, LeRoy and one sister, Hazel.

Surviving are two sons, Gary L. Benker of Pekin and Dennis Benker of Knoxville, Tennessee; one daughter, Patricia A. Benker of Morton; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Jessica; and two great-grandchildren, Aidan and Millie.

She worked in the cafeteria of Pekin Community High School, retiring in 1989.

Lucille was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Pekin.

Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Pastor Daniel Bishop will officiate.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
