Marie L Schwarz

Born July 25, 1923 in Highland Park, Michigan to Milton B. and Edith M. (Mathewson) Rose, she married Raymond L. Schwarz on January 20, 1945 in Highland Park, Michigan. He died December 11, 1999 in Marquette Heights. She also was preceded in death by her son, Raymond L. Schwarz, II; and three brothers.

Surviving are two daughters, Teresa M. Bland of Longview, Washington and Anne E. Schwarz of North Pekin; five sons, Steven J. Schwarz of Marseilles, Thomas J. (Dale) Schwarz of Semmes, Alabama, Mark A. Schwarz of Marquette Heights, Jeffrey A. (Susie) Schwarz and Louis J. (Juanita) Schwarz, both of Pekin; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Geneva Bartig of Carrollton, Georgia and Kathleen Long of Placerville, California.

Marie had worked for Princess Peggy Dress Shop from 1962 to 1974.

She was a member of the Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur, where she had served as past president of the Altar & Rosary Society.

Marie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and playing cards.

Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur. Father Scott Potthoff will be the celebrant. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Private burial will be at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
