
GREEN VALLEY ~ Marjorie A. Ball, 72, of 11505 Friedrich Road, passed away at 12:12 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 at her residence.
Born December 8, 1939 in Canton to Noble and Neva (Voorhees) Mitchell, she married John Ball on December 15, 1973 in Monterey. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Carl Heltzel of Green Valley; two daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Heilman of Forest City and Joni (Dave) Sefton of Brownstown; one granddaughter, Opal Meyer of Manito; one brother, James (Cheryl) Mitchell of Canton; and one sister, Marilyn (Eric) Hinderliter of Monterey.
She was a member of St. John's (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley.
Marjorie was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed canning, gardening and furniture restoration. She grew up around horses, and enjoyed riding and caring for them her entire life. She also had a lifelong love of dogs.
She had worked for Pekin Hospital for 21 years as a clerk in the lab, purchasing and x-ray departments. She then went back to school and graduated from Illinois Central College in East Peoria. She later worked for Heinhold Banwart Accounting in East Peoria.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at St. John's (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. Pastor Kevin Bueltmann and William Krueger, DCE will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Walnut Cemetery in Banner.
