

PEKIN ~ Mark Anthony Williams, 22, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Pekin, was fatally injured in a go-cart accident early Monday morning, passing away at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida.
He was born June 17, 1989 in Peoria to Ricky Jay and Sonja Marie (Sindle) Williams.
Surviving are his mother and step-father, Sonja and Kevin Wolfer of Mapleton; father and step-mother, Ricky and Susan Williams of Manito; one son, Dayton Williams of Pekin; fiancé, Mallory Wagner of Pekin; one sister, Hunter St. Cerny of Pekin; three brothers, Cameron Williams, Carson Williams, and Bryce Williams, all of Manito; grandparents, Douglas and Nonie Sindle of Manito, Doug and Susan Williams of Fort Myers, Florida, and Richard and Diane Thurman of Seminole, Florida; and great-grandmother, Peggy Pfeiffer of South Pekin.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Alexis Williams; and one step-brother, Todd St. Cerny.
Mark worked for Tree Services in Fort Myers, Florida, last working December 9th. Previously, he worked for Green Power Construction in Creve Coeur.
Mark enjoyed fishing, bike riding, listening to music, and playing hockey. Mark had a smile that could light a room up, knew how to make people laugh, and was a jokester.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. John E. Plunkett will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mark A. Williams Memorial Fund (to benefit his son, Dayton) in care of Heartland Bank.
Mark’s final act of kindness was being an organ donor which saved the lives of four people.
