He was born February 25, 1958 in Pekin to James “Pete” and Sonya (Martin) Thompson.
Surviving are his parents of Glasford; three sisters, Arleta Laughlin of Powder Springs, GA, Jill (Jon) Hsieh of Aurora, IL, and Trina (Walter) Pate of Gainesville, FL; one brother, Craig Thompson of San Francisco, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Martin retired from Millwright Union Local 1051 in Lincoln.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wildlife and was devoted to his animals.
A generous man, Martin was loved by his family and will be missed dearly by all of them.
Martin was a member of Glasford Baptist Church.
A private family service will be held celebrating Martin's life. Cremation will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
