Mary Bright

Born January 16, 1926 in Pekin to Joseph A. and Luella VonBoeckman, she married Charles I. Bright in May 1946. They later divorced.

Surviving are one son, Dan (Gloria) Bright and David Bright of Bloomington; two daughters, Dianne McMullen of Pekin and Janice Stark of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and two sisters, Shirley (Hank) Tassart of Pekin and Betty (Dick) Shelton of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter; two sisters and one brother.

Mary graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1944 and later attended Liberty School of Beauty Culture.

She worked at Aetna Insurance Co., retiring in 1990 and also was employed by Dr. Robert Zinser and Dr. Robert Cooley, both in Peoria.

Mary was a past president of Mothers of Twins Club in Pekin.

She was a former member of The Spiritualist Church of Peoria under the direction of Rev. Ethel Weltz.

There will be no services or visitation. Mary’s wishes were to donate her body to medical science.
