

The daughter of Henry and Sarah Elizabeth (Horton) Oedewaldt, she was born April 12, 1930, at the family’s home in rural Tremont. She married Owen R. Ingram, Jr., on February 12, 1954, at First Christian Church in Pekin. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2003. Her parents and one sister, Wilda Ann (Leslie) Keller, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are three daughters, Nancy Ann Ridgeway, Linda Sue (John) Woodrow, and Diane Marie Ingram, all of Pekin; granddaughter, Laura (Thomas) Eertmoed Currie of Groveland; grandson, Andrew (Ximena) Ridgeway of University Park, Maryland; and two great-grandsons, Luke Currie and Owen Currie, both of Groveland. A third great-grandson is expected in January.
Mary graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1947. A homemaker most of her adult life, she worked at Corn Products Refining Company before having children. Mary later worked part-time at several local grain elevators before working full-time for Tremont Co-operative Grain Co.
Mary’s primary focus throughout her life has been on her family. She especially enjoyed playing euchre and played at the Miller Senior Center and in euchre tournaments sponsored by her daughters’ Relay for Life team. She also enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Pekin for about 70 years and served as deacon, elder, and trustee. She also played in the church’s bell choir for many years.
Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2025 at First Christian Church in Pekin, with Pastor Mark Foglio officiating. Mary’s visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, and also one hour before the funeral at the church. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, as they lovingly cared for Mary in her final few days. In gratitude, they suggest memorial contributions go to the hospice home.
