I called her Mom,and I will remember all of the fun,and laughter we shared especially when at the camp grounds,and the casinos.
These are the memories "pressed between the pages of my mind".

Grandma, so many memories, so little time to tell you. I have drifted away a bit; but don't ever think I was not thinking of you for one minute. love you and miss you! 

I cherish all the times we spent together throughout the many years.  Although we can't be there for the Celebration of Your Life, we have celebrated it many times.  And we will again in the future.  Save me a seat.  We love you and you will always be in our hearts.  

Well Gram, you are with gramps now. I have a million memories of you both and there is not enough space to write it all (the campgrounds, playing yahtzee all night, the Moose on Friday nights, and living with you and gramps my senior year of high school). I'm proud to be your namesake and I will miss you dearly. Even though I lost touch with you after you left Phoenix I thought about you often. I can still here you saying my name in that voice of yours, "Now, Mary Kathleen". I love and miss you more than words can express.

Dear Aunt Mary,
My first memories of you go back to when you were married to Jim and you lived at Funks Grove. I was about 5 - 6 yrs old and Loretta and I stayed with you some times on a week-ends when mom and dad wanted to get away. You lived in a small cottage along a winding road in the Funks Grove Forest just north of Mc Lean IL on old route 66. We helped Jim collected the buckets of sap from the maple trees that you made into delicious maple syrup. Then we got to go to the hen house and collect the eggs for the day and would have a good breakfast with pancakes and maple syrup.  By that time Jim would have the cows milked and we got to watch you separate the cream from the milk in a big silver whirling machine in the basement. 
You and Jim then became farmers just outside of Mc Lean IL on 80 acres with a big red barn which was good for exploring. I remember that mom and dad had gone some were for 3 or 4 days, I was staying with you and I got home sick. I climbed the tree out front of your house with a saw. I started sawing the limb I was setting on, about the time it gave way with me on it you came out and witnessed the whole event as I tumbled to the ground. I remember your good natured laughter, even though it was humiliating for me it was pretty funny and we laughed many times years later recalling the incident.  
Christmas was always a special time in Atlanta with Grandma and Grandpa Ryan and all the brothers and sisters. I can remember those cold and snowy holidays all in the same warm and well decorated house with family enjoying the simple things, popcorn, good food and the adults with their beverages. The kids got to go to Luis Theater, the show uptown. We were treated with a cartoon feastable and a bag of goodies from Santa including and orange, Hershey bar and popcorn. 
I remember the men getting Jim drunk on New Years Eve and dressing him up like women with lipstick and a wig and taking him to Harriss Tavern. He flirted with all the old men and just had a good time. Even at the young age of 10 years I saw the humor and good nature in this, it was pure innocent good fun. As a child all these things made a lasting impression on me and allowed me to see the goodness in all things.
I remember when you and Willard ran off with each other; we all thought you had lost your mind, why would you leave a man like Jim. Later we found out what you had been going through. You and Willard were very much in love from the time you met in the Hartsburg Gas Station Restaurant until you and he drew your last breath. No one ever doubted the love you both had for one another.  I pray now that you are both together again in each others arms enjoying eternity together.

Mary,  I will miss you very much.  We sure had some good times together.  I remember all the times at the campground fishing, talking and having a good time.  Who can forget those "gambling trips" :)  Stella

Aunt Mary I'll miss our times when you and Willard would come to Tulsa on your way to Illinios.  We had lots of fun, and you always made me laugh. YOU WILL TRULY BE MISSED 

I miss my Mother more today than I did yesterday.  I've lived away from home for over 20 years but I always remembered to talk to her each week.  I will miss those conversations.  Even though my life is also going to be cut short, I will know I'll see you again someday.

Sure hope you took your cell phone with you hun otherwise those weekend calls will be so sadly missed by me.  I love you very much Mary and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  See you again some day.



My grandma was a very special person. She loved everyone for who they were. I will miss her very much. She is no longer going to suffer. She's now with my grandpa sitting having a Miller Lite and watching the Cardinals and Cubs play each other at the camp ground!!!
