Mary Kathryn Smith

Born July 29, 1976, in Canton to David and Jeanette (Mercer) Walters. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Oniley and Mary Ellen Farwell and Whitney Mercer and loved one, Joe Hayes.

She is survived by one son, Lars (Jade) Smith of Pekin; partner of many years, Rick Lung; five cousins, Josh, Brian, and Adam Mercer, all of Vermont and Sonya Walters and Brandy Robertson, both of Mississippi and loved ones, Katrina Hull, Misty Workman, Brian and Crystal Hayes and their children, Tristin, Savannah, and Sawyer Hayes.

Katy was a housekeeper at Rushville Nursing and Rehab Center for 25 years.

She enjoyed watching the Jurassic Park movies, collecting Funko-pops, taking naps, watching cat videos and spending time with her partner, Rick.

A celebration of Katy’s life will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2 p.m. at South Fulton Senior Citizens Center, 108 West Broadway, Astoria, Illinois 61501. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
