Mary M Vogelsang

PEKIN ~ Mary Mae Vogelsang, 82, of Pekin, passed away at 3:51 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin.

Born December 1, 1931 in Pekin to Henry and Blanche (Livingston) Heiken, she married Charles Vogelsang on June 27, 1954 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Diana (Greg) Hasler of Pekin; two sons, Michael (Mary) Vogelsang of Orland Park and Dave (Linda) Vogelsang of Belvidere; and five grandchildren, Amy, Dan, Kevin, Nick and Jon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Norma Guengerich and Margaret Heiken.

Mary was a registered nurse that worked at Tazewell County Health Department in Tremont for 15 years, retiring in 1991.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pekin for over 50 years.

Mary enjoyed her family and traveling.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
