He was born Jun. 26, 1966 in Moline to Virgil and Brenda (Carter) Mayo.
Surviving are 1 daughter, Chelsey Mayo of Davenport, Ia. and 1 son Zachary Mayo of Milan; his parents, Virgil and Brenda Mayo of Pekin; the love of his life, Tammy Buzick of Bloomington; and 1 step-sister, Lisa (Bill) Hammond of Lexington.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He worked as a line supervisor at RMH Foods in Morton for the last 2 years.
Mike was a huge NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. He also enjoyed walking and watching professional wrestling.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 3, 2010at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Gary Ford will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
