He was born January 16, 1947 in Peoria to James George and Carrie Elizabeth (Reeves) Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janice Lynn Meskimen.
Surviving are one son, Michael James (Julie) Patterson, Jr. of Germantown Hills; one daughter, Carrie (Steven) Petersen of Nebraska; twin grandsons; three granddaughters and two brothers, Dennis (Rose Mary) Patterson of Marquette Heights and Larry Patterson of Pekin.
Mike served in the United States Marine Corps.
He had worked as a laborer in the area at various places.
Mike enjoyed playing golf, fishing and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.
A gathering celebrating the life of Mike will be held at a later date.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
