Born February 3, 1938 in Tazewell County, she was the daughter of Lawrence G. and Fannie E. (Stauthammer) Cordes. Her parents preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Marie Wagner and Martha L. “Mert” Nelms and one nephew, Kevin Wagner.
Surviving are one niece, Pamela Buerkett of Pekin and five nephews, Randy (Barb) Nelms, Larry (Janet) Nelms, both of Pekin, Harold Wagner of Atlanta, Georgia, Greg (Deb) Wagner and Jeff (Wendy) Wagner, both of Des Moines, Iowa and many great nieces and nephews.
Millie worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 33 years as an order analyst, retiring 2000.
She was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the Concordia Society. She also served the church as an usher and as a former secretary of the church council.
Millie loved traveling.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin. Pastor Simeon D. Raddatz will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral Thursday at the church. Guidelines regarding social distancing and masks will be followed. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
