

She was born May 19, 1917 in Sand Prairie Township, rural Tazewell County to Peter J. and Mary M. (Heilman) Lutz.
Surviving are one sister, Margaret (Thomas) Maloney of LaPorte, Indiana; five nephews, John "Jack" (Phyllis) Lutz of South Pekin, Robert (Rose Mary) Lutz and Eugene (Sandra) Lutz, both of Pekin, Michael (Cindy) Maloney of Dallas, Texas and Jay Lutz of Walnut Creek, California; one niece, Maureen (Brian) White of Chicago and many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, one sister (Elizabeth Lutz), and three brothers (Howard G. Lutz, Robert F. Lutz, and Herbert F. Lutz).
She worked in Central Supply at Pekin Hospital for 10 years before retiring in 1984. Previously, she had worked in the packaging department at Standard Brands Company in Pekin for 28 years.
Mildred was a member of St. John's (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley where she was active in the Lydia Guild and the Berniece Guild. She was also a member of the Tazewell County Farm Bureau and the Pekin Hospital Retirees Club.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday,October15, 2008at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. The Rev. Thomas R. Wenndt will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Sand Prairie Cemetery in rural Green Valley.
