She was born November 6, 1946 in Chicago to William and Shirley (Carey) Thurman.
Surviving are one son, Eugene (Thanda) Potter of Minier; one daughter, Gina Erickson of Joliet; one step-granddaughter and her brothers and sisters, Bill Blake of Pekin, Joe Bray, Bill Bray, both of Florida, Linda Bray and Jeff Bray. She also leaves her aunt Marion.
Nancy enjoyed painting and firing ceramics and was an avid book reader. She also loved children, crocheting and anything crafty. She was really good at making things last and was one to reuse and redo.
No services or visitation are planned. She arranged to donate her body to medical science. Arrangements are pending at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
