Born November 8, 1931 in Peoria to Dan and Helen (Markley) Strmac, she married William Edward Strickfaden on December 25, 1952 in Groveland. He died January 13, 1993 in Oak Lawn. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Daniel Strmac and her lifelong friends, Ray and Marie Zaayenga.
Naomi is survived by the daughters of Ray and Marie who were her dear friends and caregivers, Trela Cain and Anna (Mike) Ingles, both of Pekin and their families.
She moved to Chicago in 1953 and devoted 44 years of service to Shriners Hospitals for Children in Chicago, working in the Administration Department. Her career was marked by loyalty to her work and a consistently pleasant personality. She retired in 1998 after decades of dependable commitment to the hospital and their board of directors.
Naomi also found great joy in traveling. She traveled extensively with her husband, Bill, during the years he served with the Lions Club as an international director and as governor of Lions Illinois, embracing the opportunities those roles provided and making lasting memories along the way.
Her graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Zion Evangelical United Methodist Church Cemetery in Groveland. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
