Nelson Lee Sellers

Born August 16, 1948 in Peoria to Wilfred LaRue and Marian Lucille (Melton) Sellers, he married Rhonda E. Willis on March 20, 1970 in Guam. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Angela (Brian) Hilst of Green Valley and Jennifer (Scott) Hoecker of Pekin; four grandchildren, Baylee Hoecker, Brooke Hoecker, Emily Hilst and Brandon Hilst; two brothers, Aaron (Molly) Sellers of Tremont and Rick (Carla) Sellers of Mason City and three brothers-in-laws, Larry (Sue) Willis of East Peoria, Gary (Peggy) Willis of Peoria and Vance (Judy) Willis of Rochester, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973, serving in Guam and California and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Nelson worked for Caterpillar, Inc. as a millwright from 1973 to 2008.

Nelson was an avid golfer who enjoyed an ice cold Miller Lite after his round of golf. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed wintering with his wife in Texas and spending time with his River Bend family.

He was a former member of San Jose United Methodist Church.

Private family services will be held at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chris Sansom will officiate.
