

Norman was born on January 21, 1942, in Pekin to Gallant and Bertha (Gray). His parents precede him in death. Norman was also preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his great nephews, Todd (Kimberly) Fuller, and Donnie Fuller; great-great nieces, Victoria Fuller, Natalie Fuller, and Jessica Cox.
Norman served and protected his country in the United States Army, during The Vietnam War, from 1973 to 1974. During this time, he worked as a combat engineer and construction worker.
He was skilled in repairing and worked as a mechanic, and in construction when he returned from the service. He enjoyed playing poker, card games, guitar, and his banjo. Norman could be found spending his free time watching old western movies and rooting for the Chicago Cubs.
Norman was especially grateful for the care and kindness received by the staff at John Evans Supportive Living Community who took excellent care of him during his many years there.
His graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2025 at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Military rites will be accorded by the United States Army and the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
