

Born February 9, 1928 in Springfield, Missouri to A. Lee and Linnie (Sterett) Harding, he married Laura Murphy.
Surviving are one daughter, Melanie (Tony) Anderson of Peoria; one son, David Harding of Pekin; two grandchildren, Kate (David) Zaluski of Hartford, Connecticut and Timothy Anderson of Pekin; one great-grandson, Ryan Zaluski; one sister, Kathryn Bellamy of Springfield, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ralph Harding.
A United States Navy veteran, he served during the Korean War.
He was a graduate of Drury University in Springfield, Missouri.
Norm was the Administrator at Marion Memorial Hospital in Marion for 12 years. He later worked for Burrows Supply Company as a sales representative for 20 years, retiring in 1985.
He was an avid Saint Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He was a former member of the Pekin Elk’s Lodge #1271.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the service. Pastor Jim Book will officiate.
