Patti was a truly amazing, incredibly hard working, and unbelievably determined woman. An avid baker, she decorated cakes for many years, and not a holiday went by without her spending days baking cookies for hundreds of people. She retired at the age of 77 after more than 50 years of house cleaning, in addition to being a huge part of track operations at the Mason County Raceway, the dragstrip the family owned in Havana, IL. If you ever won, she wrote and signed the check, if you ate a cheeseburger, she likely cooked it, if someone ever gave you the sweetest smile from the concession stand it was probably her. If someone took a picture of you standing next to your race car, it was also, most likely her.
She dearly loved hosting and attending tea parties, enjoyed making homemade tatted note cards, tatting elaborate earrings\bracelets, going to car shows, cruise-in’s and drag races.
Patti's daily driving force, aside from her family, was her deeply rooted faith in Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of North Parkway Assembly of God in Pekin since the early 1970’s.
Her joy for music was unmatched. She and her husband, Bob, hosted “Sing A Long” style karaoke get togethers often, at their home. They also attended music events regularly over the past several years.
Her visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 with services following at North Parkway Assembly of God in Pekin. A celebration dinner will be provided, following the services. Bring your favorite hat, and your favorite hotrod. Pastor Chris Clark will officiate services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Patti’s only request to her family was for a Memorial swing or bench in the Pekin Park, where most every Sunday, she would sit near the lagoon and listen to the church bells ring. She dearly loved the Pekin Park. Anyone wishing to make a contribution, in her memory, a memorial fund has been established at CEFCU, in which donations can be made in person, or if you have an account, funds can easily be transferred.
