

Pekin ~ Peter "George" Tomsha, 76, of Pekin, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 3, 1949, in Pekin, a son of Peter and Phyllis (Martin) Tomsha. George married Margie "Carolyn" Hudson on October 21, 1972, in Pekin. She survives.
He is also survived by his daughter, Tammi Tomsha of Pekin.
George was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Phillip Tomsha; and his maternal grandparents, Thomas Clayton and Gertrude Marie (Oats) Martin.
He served his country in the United States Army. George was a Vietnam War veteran, serving from 1968 to 1970 in the 7th Cavalry. He achieved the rank of E-5 Sergeant, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Marksman M-14.
George worked as a chemical operator for Lanza Chemical Company for 35 years, retiring in 2008. He then went to work for Corn Products/Ingredion for another 5 years.
George's graveside service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin with full military honors.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory.
