

PEKIN ~ Ramona Louise McCormick, 72, of 738 East Main Street, Tolono, formerly of Pekin, died at 7:26 a.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009 at her home. Born November 20, 1937 in Pekin to Henry and Goldie (Conley) Fowler, she married Charles Edward McCormick in 1955 in Pekin. He died in October 1980 in Shabbona. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Kevin James McCormick. Surviving are four sons, Charles L. (Barb) McCormick of West Virginia, Joe W. (Susan) McCormick of San Jose, David K. (P.J. Mann) McCormick of Washington and Henry C. (Nancy) McCormick of Pickens, South Carolina; two daughters, Cheri K. (Mark Easton) McCormick of Tolono and Samantha L. McCormick of Carencro, Louisiana; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry R. (Sharon) Fowler of Georgia; and one sister, Jeannine King of Pekin. Ramona was a former member of the New Testament Missionary Baptist Church in Pekin. She worked several years as a bus driver and also as a certified nurse's aide in Shabbona. She loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Roger Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
