Rita K Burdess

Born September 6, 1973 in Pekin to Gary Richard and Charlotte Kay (Benefield) Turner, she married Roger Kent Burdess on May 8, 1993 in Pekin.

Surviving are her husband; her parents, Gary and Kay Turner of Pekin; two sons, Zachary Burdess and Pierson Burdess, both of Pekin; one daughter, Madison Burdess of Pekin; one sister, Kerri (Billy) Lovan of Pekin; one nephew, Jakob Johnson; and two nieces, Audrey Turner and Emma Turner.

She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Kelly Jean Turner, and her grandparents.

Rita worked for Addus HealthCare in Peoria as a home health aide for the past few years. Previously, she worked at the Miller Home in Pekin.

Rita was a vibrant and colorful person with a bubbling personality. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping with family and friends. She was also a passionate caregiver and homemaker. She had many friends, all of whom heard the phrase “Kiss my face and tell me you love me”.

She attended Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God in rural Pekin.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Chuck Grogan will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
