

Robert was born on June 24, 1958, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Herman Lee and Darlene Juene Martin.
He moved to Pekin in 1970 with his family. He attended Willow Grade School, Edison Junior High, and Pekin Community High School. Bob worked for Keller’s Peoria Harbor Service in Creve Coeur, worked in construction in California and moved to Oregon where he worked for Cascade General Harbor Shipyard for 17 years, until his disability retirement in 2007. He attended St. Helens Church of the Nazarene in St. Helens, Oregon, where he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Bob moved to rural Cuba, Illinois in 2012 and then back to Pekin in 2024.
Bob enjoyed camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, logging, mushrooming, canoeing, and was a walking library of information about trees, plants and animals.
He is survived by his parents; one sister, Karen (Thomas) Wunder of Edelstein; one niece, Sarah (Edward) Stiltz of Pekin; and one great-niece, Charli Rose Stiltz.
Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Pekin First Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Cheryl Sherwood will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
There will be no visitation.
