Robert F Mounts

Born November 29, 1926 in Peoria to Frank and Myrtle (Stever) Mounts, he married Pearl Moore on February 14, 1948 in Peoria.  She died on December 12, 1954 in Peoria.  He later married Iva Deal on November 22, 1955 in Bartonville.  She passed away on January 10, 2007.He also was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Bobby Francis Mounts and his beloved dog, Misty.

Surviving are 2 sons, Billy (Barb) Snyder of North Las Vegas, Nevada and Kenny (Nancy) Mounts of Creve Coeur; 4 daughters, Patsy (Jim) Wyatt of Creve Coeur, Sharon Gilbert and Mary Ann (Dave Cox) Mounts of East Peoria, and Carol Turk of Marquette Heights; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Margaret Wikoff of Peoria.

Robert served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946.

He was a member of Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur.

He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for several years, retiring as a power truck operator.  He had also worked as a funeral assistant at Boland Mortuary in Peoria.

Robert had served on the Creve Coeur Fire and Rescue Department.

A devoted family man and dog lover, he also enjoyed fishing, gardening and working on lawn mowers.

His funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur.  Father Atillio Morelli will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church.  Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
