

Born August 5, 1950 in Peoria to Donald William and Violet America (Fey) Duffin, he married Sharon Rae Stewart on August 1, 1970 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Donald James “D.J.” (Denise) Duffin of Pekin and Chad Michael (Michelle) Duffin of Oswego; four grandchildren, Cole Duffin, Jordan Duffin, Kaylia Duffin and Cade Duffin and one sister, Joy Lynn Kranz of Pekin. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Betty Rogge of Pekin; a brother-in-law, James (Brenda) Stewart of Durand, MI; a sister-in-law, Val (Tony) Nowosielski of Brownsburg, IN and his two loving nieces, Tammy (Fred) Brooks of Cushing, ME and Tonya (Kenny) Johnson of Naples, FL.
His parents preceded him in death.
Rocky worked as a millwright for Caterpillar, Inc. from 1969 to 1992. He was a proud member of United Auto Workers Local 974 and served as the recording secretary for the local union and had served on the board of the UAW Senior Citizens Center in Pekin.
Rocky was dedicated to the youth of our community and served as a longtime coach for the Pekin Junior Football League. He also had served as a member of the Shade Memorial Youth Camp Board and was a member and past president of the Pekin Quarterback Club. He served several terms as a member of the Pekin Park District Board of Commissioners.
He was a member of Pekin Moose Family Center 916; Pekin Boat Club; Manito Lodge No. 476, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons; Pekin Chapter 25 of the Royal Arch Masons; Pekin Elks Lodge 1271 and a former member of the Pekin Chapter of Ambucs. He was a member of First Christian Church in Pekin.
He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandpa.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Richard Pippin, a cousin, will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral.
